Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law has become the member EU- Georgian Business Council (EUGBC)

How will the membership of EUGBC contribute to Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law?

What chances and perspectives has the highest educational unite acquired and what kind of services it is planning to export to Europe?

“Student news” had a talk with the head of quality assurance Mr. Zviad Skhvitaridze.

 - Mr. Zviad. As far as we know this year Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law has become the member of EU-Georgian Business council (EUGBC).

Would you tell us in short about the activity of this organization?

The EU-Georgian Business council (EUGBC) was founded by Georgian and European companies at the beginning of 2006.

The council’s headquarter is located in Brussels and has its representation in Tbilisi as well.

Nowadays the council incorporates about 40 members that operate in fields of energetic, manufacturing industry, building, telecommunication, informational technologies, transport, legal service, audit etc.

The main goal of the EU-Georgian business Council is increasing and supporting the volume of trade and investments, popularization of Georgia in Europe and protecting the legitimate rights of its members. The aim of the Council is providing and maintaining dialogue within business, civil society and state units.

The council offers consulting services to its members and assists them in starting business in Europe and Georgia. Finding partners and solving the issues connected with entering new markets, providing with the information concerning investment and trading legislation.

The council also represents a kind of messenger between Georgian government, European institutions and their members.

I hope that the integration of our Academy in the Council will be very productive. The Academy has become the corporative member of the council that gives us the right to vote as well as the right to participate in the decision making process. We hope that this collaboration will be very fruitful and productive.

Could you please give us more information concerning the fields of mutual cooperation?

Cooperation with this organization and its members provides a wide range of perspectives. Our party is mostly interested in offering services within the field of education to the members of the organization as well as popularization of Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law in Georgia and other European countries.

Let me pay your attention to the fact that Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law offers BA and MA programs in Business Administration and Law. We have also certificate courses, preparatory training courses for different business organizations and their stuff. Our program includes general courses in Management, Human Rights Management courses as well as autocratic courses but with very pragmatic specialties, such as preparing law papers, administrative relations with state organs etc.

We obtain the complete package of educational services we can offer to the organization and each of its members.   International experts’ recruitment courses are expensive and costly. We are offering a highly professional qualification to our members for much lower prices. I would also note that the recruiters at our Academy are not only high skilled professionals but people who have obtained international experience and education in the United States, Europe and have worked in different European and American institutions. I can assure you that we really have these resources. Our Academy counts approximately 50-60 professors and we can answer the demands and needs of 3-4 organization at the same time.

The customer organization will be provided with the infrastructure answering high, international standards; meeting rooms, conference hall. As one of the members of the EUGBC we are also offering this infrastructure for the needs of the council.

The membership of the council is very important for the Academy regarding the development of international relations as well. The EUGBC holds permanent meetings with the ambassadors and representatives of various diplomatic corps.

It would be interesting for us to participate in this kind of meetings. Exchanging information and obtaining various professional contacts.

I truly believe that this kind of relations is inevitable for the future of our Academy, for the realization of its far going plans and enlarging the circle of new partners across Europe.

At this moment it seems very promising to explore the possibilities of starting partnership with the countries of Eastern Europe, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.

-Wish you good luck!
