The Mission of Law Faculty of Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law

According to current reforms and legal relations of the Ministry of Education, prepare adequate qualification Bachelors and Masters degree holders, who will help to establish constitutional state and give qualified legal service to  society.

Develop methods of legal education and consequently bring up qualified generation of lawyers. Create high-level educational programs, methodic and materials, which will fit to international standards.

Introduce working, teaching, educational terms and means conformable to modern technologies.

According to the necessary terms for education, develop faculty’s as academic as well material-technical base. Help Academy’s graduates to find jobs.

Goals and objectives of educational program

Educational program of the Law Faculty provides students with study of law issues’ comprehension-analyzing and received education’s usage. Students become proficient in main issues, which are necessary for lawyers’ activities and acquire abilities to solve problems independently.

Besides studying Law issues students have opportunity to learn law’s political, public, philosophical, historical and economical aspects. According to their abilities, students can study non-juridical disciplines, which will help them to deepen education in separate fields.

Graduates of the Bachelors course will have possibility to be occupied at any job, where only Bachelors degree is necessary and is not comprehensive to pass government’s certification exam. Accordingly students will be able to continue studying in LLM program, that is orientated to prepare farther level specialists.

LLM program gives its graduates necessary education of Judge, Public Prosecutor, Lawyer and Notary, that is precondition and foundation of the government certification exam. At the same time, it will help students to develop scientific research habits necessary for Doctor’s program.

Help as Georgian as well world’s any country’s citizens study Georgian and international legislation. Attract high qualification academic personnel and improve legal advice quality.

Volume of the Educational Program

Bachelor program is awarded with 240 ECTS credits in aggregated volume and Master’s program – 120 credits. It’s advisable that students overcame 30 credit program.

Bachelor program consists of compulsory disciplines: methods of law, specialized subjects, foreign language and non-juridical (law) subjects’ educational module.

Subjects unified in the module are interrelated and it’s possible that passing of one exam was pre-condition of the other subject’s study.

 To overcome Bachelor program it’s necessary to gain 240 ECTS credits during 4 educational years, as well as 120 ECTS credits are necessary to overcome Masters program, which also consists of 1 term internship.

Results of the program

Our graduates will be Bachelor’s and Master’s degree holder high qualified lawyers, this will help to direct correct and qualified law relations in the country, they will be able to be employed as in civil sectors as well in private sectors’ , according to their qualification.
