Organizational structure There are two modules at the Bachelor’s program of the Department of Law-International Law and Business Law Modules. With regards to the Master’s Program, there are two directions: International Law and Business Law.
Fields of Expertise There are twenty professors at the Faculty, who implement their teaching activities in such traditional legal fields as Civil Law, International Law, Criminal Law, Business Law, Administrative and State laws. Besides, lectures are delivered in such specific spheres, as Insurance and Labour Law, also Banking, Entrepreneur, Lax Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Maritime and International Human Rights laws. At the Department important attention is paid to the intensive study of the disciplines connected with European law. Furthermore, at the third and fourth courses of the Bachelor’s program the elective courses are included, which are adapted to the International Law and Business law Modules.
Teaching and learning methods During the semester, together with lectures, organization of the oral and writing seminars, discussions over the various actual issues are foreseen. One of the main priorities also represents preparation of the presentations by the students.
Methods of Assessment Written examination at the end of each course is held. During the final assessment of the student the following aspects are taken into consideration: Student’s activity during the lectures, Lecture attending, results of the seminars, presentations and the final examination. Grading system is based to the ECTS grading scheme. The highest grade is A, which is written in case, if the final result has been assessed between 90-100%. Other grades are granted to the following system: B – 81-90% C - 71-80% D - 61-70% E - 51-60%
If student has received less than 50%, it means failure. In case of the receiving 50-40%, student will get grade – FX, which means that for the final passing the examination more working activity should be done, and if student has received less than 40%, he will get - F, which means that for the passing of the examination has to be implemented huge volume of work.
General description of programs at the Department Academy of Economy and Law runs Bachelor and Master Programs in Law. At the Bachelor program study period is 4 years and at the Master Program – 2 years. Preparatory Courses exist for Master and Bachelor programs with important attention to intensive study of Legal English. Five subjects are delivered in each semester at the Bachelor program. Workload of the student during the one academic year is determined by 60 credits, 30-30 credits in the each semester. One credit is equal to 30 working hours. Each subject has its appropriate credit. There are two modules at the Bachelor Program: 1. International Law 2. Business Law.. After 4 years of successful completion of a study program, the student will receive degree – Bachelor of Law. As for the Master program, it has two directions: International Law and Business Law. Duration of the study is two years which includes four semester. Five subjects are taught in each semester, the last – fourth semester is dedicated for working over the Master Thesis. In case of successful completion of the Master’s Program student will get degree – Master of Law.
