Organisational structure

Business Faculty has only one department - The Department of Economy and Business.

Fields of expertise

There are fifteen associate professors and assistant professors at the faculty, forming the basis of all the Department of  Economy and Business, and embracing the business  fields such as economics, financial management, marketing management, international business management, accounting, organizational behavior etc.

There is also, however, special competence amongst the staff in areas such as corporate finance, strategic management , international trade, information technologies, electronic commerce, financial modeling, investment analysis, project and operations management, banking, entrepreneurial law etc.    

Faculty Council

Faculty Council works at the Business Administration Faculty, which represents consultation body of the academic programs’ development at the business administration faculty of Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law.  Faculty Council consists of the following persons:

1. Rijamadze Nana, Vice-president of Academic Programs,  Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law;
2. Nanobashvili Valeri, Dean of Business Administration,  Tbilisi Academy of Economy and Law;
3. Shengelia Temur, Professor, Head of Academic Programs, faculty of Economy and Business Administration, Tbilisi State University;
4. Lali Chagelishvili, Professor, Head of Graduate Programs, faculty of Management and Microeconomics, Tbilisi State University;
5. Jojua Nino, Associated Professor, Director of Academic Programs of Caucasus Academic Center (CAC). 
       

Teaching and learning methods

Seminars, lectures, written memos, oral presentations, case discussions, practical exercises, written tests.

Methods of assessment

Written examination at the end of each course.

If test score is between 90-100% student gets highest mark – A (excellent). Rest of the marks are assigned according the following scheme:

B - 81-90%
C - 71-80%
D - 61-70%
E  - 51-60%

If student receives less than 50%, this means that he/she failed. In case if student receives 40-50%, he/she will be assigned FX, which means that he/she needs to do more work to pass that exam. If student receives less than 40%, he/she will be assigned F. This means that student needs to commit significant efforts and work time in order to pass exam in that subject.

General description of programs at the department:

Bachelor of Business Administration is awarded upon completion of four-year equivalent of study 240 ECTS credits in aggregated volume. Master of Business Administration (MBA) is awarded upon completion of two-year equivalent of study - 120 ECTS credits in volume by the persons who already have bachelor’s or equivalent degrees. 

Certification programs award certificates in the relevant fields of studies after short-term period of trainings.
