CEEMAN Deans and Directors Meeting Internationalizing Management Education: Challenges and Opportunities for Business Schools 27 September 2007 Istanbul, Turkey The 2007 CEEMAN Deans and Directors Meeting will be held on September 27 at Sabanci University, Faculty of Management. Its topic will be “Internationalizing Management Education: Challenges and Opportunities for Business Schools”. Participants will discuss the issues related to international management education. The respective challenges and opportunities will be viewed through both business and cross-cultural perspectives. Best practices and strategic responses in the areas of educational programs and processes, faculty, students, and institutional partnerships will be presented and the related marketing challenges for business schools discussed. In the context of the lessons learned, the actual and potential role of international associations in promoting and fostering international business education and management development will also be discussed.
Executive Education Workshop "Executive Education in Transition and Dynamically Changing Economies: Key Issues and Possible Synergies" 27-29 June 2007 Tallinn, Estonia A CEEMAN Workshop on “Executive Education in Transition and Dynamically Changing Economies: Key Issues and Possible Synergies” will be held on 27-29 June 2007 in Tallinn, Estonia. The host institution is the Estonian Business School (EBS). Based on the initiative of the school, which is supported by several other CEEMAN member institutions, CEEMAN has decided to develop a new platform to serve its members and other management development institutions involved and/or interested in the expansion of executive education in transition and dynamically changing economies. The workshop is intended for CEEMAN members already involved or interested in executive education as well as for non-members interested in offering executive education programs or in building new partnerships and alliances. In order to achieve this, the workshop will include: - Mapping of executive education offerings within CEEMAN
- Identification of key issues and possible synergies
- Recommendations on how business schools could most effectively respond to changing executive education needs
- Suggestions on how the future CEEMAN ExEd platform can help (follow-up activities and topics for future ExEd Workshops)
The CEEMAN ExED Workshop will be formatted as a unique mix of presentations, networking, and break-outs, including those organized in a World Café setting, to share information, case examples, and best practices.

The Conferences is co-organized by CEEMAN - Central and East European Management Development Association, RABE – Russian Association for Business education; CAMAN – Central Asian Foundation for Management Development; and REGENA – Regional Education Network Association, with CAMAN and REGENA being the host institutions. The International Conference will focus on how business education can contribute to the transitional and dynamically changing countries, particularly in Central Asia, to build and sustain their competitiveness through the increasing international business cooperation. IMTA - International Management Teachers Academy 10-22 June 2007 Bled, SloveniaIMTA 2007 will take place for the 8th consecutive year at the IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia, from 10-22 June 2007. The first half of the two-week program covers common issues and interests related to general aspects of management education while the second is week is structured into four disciplinary tracks which include: strategic management, marketing, finance and leadership and change management The participating CEEMAN Board members - deans and directors of prominent business schools from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, and Ukraine made the clear point that faculty development and institutional development are almost synonyms Business schools cannot achieve or sustain competitive advantage in a globalizing business education and management development industry if they do not center all their attention and priorities on faculty development. A management educator should be an excellent teacher, capable not only of transferring knowledge and developing skills but also of helping students to open their horizons and motivate them to life-long-learning.
